The Center is located in the Ushiku City Officce
The Health-Care Center facility supports everyone's health from children to adults .

Please use in the following cases.

1) You are pregnant and wish to receive a Mother And Child Health Handbook (boshi techou).
2) You wish to inquire about your baby's illness or development, or regarding nutrition

3) You want to ask about vaccinations and medical checkups for your children
4) You want to ask about medical checkups for adults
5) You want to consult about physical problems of your family

šYour Alien Registration Certificate issued in Ushiku City Hall is required to use the facility.
šIf you donft understand Japanese, itfs better for you to ask someone who speaks Japanese to call the Center or accompany to the Center

If you are pregnant

Please submit a notification of pregnancy to the Health-Care Center when you are
pregnant and your doctor has told you the date of your childbirth. The Mother and Child
Health Handbook and Health-check Form will be provided (for application, your Alien
Registration Certificate and Health Insurance Certificate are required).

Vaccination

Vaccianations are performed to prevent the occurence of serious illnesses cause by virusese and/or germs.

Medical Checkups for children

These are done to see if a child is in good health and develops properly.

1) One-month health checkcCarried out at the hospital where the baby was born.
2) Medical examinations for 3-4 months old cCarried out at the Health-Care Center. A guide is sent by mail in advance.
3) Medical examination for infantscCarried out at medical agencies using the Infant General Health Examination Form
4) Medical examinations for children 18 months / 3 years oldcCarried out at the Health-Care Center.

Some guidance will be sent to you by mail in advance.

Pre-Natal Classes

The following information is in regard to pre-natal classes.

These classes are for pregnant women and their partners, to learn about pregnancy, delivery, and nursing. The 3 day course is held at the Public Health Center
Applications must be made at the Health Center.

Consultations Regarding A.I.D.S.

Free examinations and consultations regarding A.I.D.S. are available at 14 public health offices in Ibaraki Prefecture. Everything is confidential. If you have any reason to believe you may have the H.I.V. virus, you must wait 3 months to take the H.I.V. test, as the virus cannot be detected immediately.

Consultations in Japanese are available at the Ryugasaki Public Health Office (or Hokenjo), in person, from 9:00a.m. to 11:00a.m. on Mondays, or by phone at 0297-62-2367. Telephone consultation in English and Thai is also available through the Tsukuba Hokenjo at 029-851-4920. Consultations are available in English every first Monday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., and in Thai every third Monday from l:00 p.m. to 5:00p.m..
