When Ushiku City Hall is Open

Ushiku City Hall is open from 8:30 am to 5:15 pm except Saturdays, Sundays and National holidays. General Information Counter, however, is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 8:30am to 5:15pm. On National Holidays, the city hall is closed, therefore there are no services. For further information, call at Ushiku City Hall Tel: 873-2111

Starting on April 7 of 2011, Ushiku City Hall was planning
to open until 7:15pm on Thursdays. However, because of the current eletricity supply, the city has decided to put off this plan.

Information on business hours of Ushiku City Branch Offices

1. Escado Branch office
(A branch in front of Ushiku Station/ On the first floor of Escado)
Business hours: 8:30am~5:15 pm (closed on National Holidays)

2.Okuno Branch office(In Okuno Lifelong Learning Center)
Business hours: 8:30am~5:15pm (Closed when Okuno Lifelong Learning Center is closed as well as National Holidays)

3.Mikazukibashi Branch office (In Mikazukibashi Lifelong Learning Center)
Business hours : 8:30am~5:15pm (Closed when Mikazukibashi Lifelong Learning Center is closed as well as National Holidays)

4.Refle Branch office ( in Refle Post Office)
Business hours : 9:00am~4:00pm (Closed on Saturdays and Sundays as well as National Holidays)


* Most of the certificates are issued at each branch above on weekends as well as weekdays. Several kinds of certificates, however, are not issued on weekends. For further information, please contact 873-2111 Ext 1623 (General Information Counter at City Hall)

*Tax payments and tax consultations are available at Ushiku
City Hall on the first and last Sundays.
This service includes not only tax payments but also utility bill payments, such as sewage bill payment and city-run apartment rental fees. Be sure to bring notifications of payments.

The 54 Multi-Cultural Cooking ・・・Nepal Cuisine

The Multi-Cultural Cooking Club is collecting participants in the next cooking class.

Date & Time: March 7 (Wed) 9:30 am-1:00 pm
Venue : Cooking room in Ushiku-shi Chuo Shogai Gakushu Center(Central Lifelong Learning Center)
Instructor: Mr. Katori Cham (a professional Nepalese cook)
Fee: 500yen (Please pay at the information desk on the day of the cooking class)
Target Group: Ushiku citizens or people who work in Ushiku, 18 years old and older 
Limit: Twenty people (Participants will be chosen by a lottery when the number of the applicants exceeds the limit.)
Those who joined the last cooking class can’t make an application for this time.

Starting at 11:00am , first 200 shoppers can buy a cartoon of milk at a bargaining price.

There will be a lottery at 12:30 in the afternoon.

The 88th Ushiku Toku Toku Ichi
This is a market where you can buy fresh local products.
Date:January 22( Every fourth Sunday except December )
Time: 9:00am~11:00am
Venue: Ushiku Shiei Seika Ichiba (City-run Fresh Market)

☆Hot soup full of vegetables will be served free of charge. (9:00am ~)
☆ At a bargaining price, shoppers can enjoy packing as many onions as possible into a bag which comes along with shopping cuopons attached. (10:00am~)

International Exchange Room

UshikuCity has an International Exchange Room on the second floor of Ushiku City Hall, where you can find  information about the international exchange. There are some pamphlets written in several foreign languages such as English, Portuguese, Thai, Chinese,Spahish, Tagalong and Korean. On the bulletin board there,  you will get information that makes your life enjoyable. Please come to the International Exchange Room!!

Nihongo Kyoshitsu (Japanese Language Classes)

Very kind volunteers can teach Japanese on a one-to-one basis. Enjoyable events such as cultural exchange parties are also held.
